Sisalwool, Camels and Conversations: A Great Border Union Show

Sisalwool is reflecting on a positive few days at the Border Union Show, where the team enjoyed speaking with visitors about the benefits of natural fibre insulation and how it can help create healthier, more comfortable and more sustainable buildings.

The show provided a valuable opportunity to meet farmers, self-builders, contractors and industry professionals, all of whom shared a strong interest in more sustainable approaches to construction and retrofitting.

Throughout the event, the Sisalwool team was able to demonstrate how natural fibre insulation can support improved thermal performance, moisture management and indoor comfort, while remaining aligned with the growing demand for lower-impact building products….across a wide range of industries.

A Show Full of Conversations

The Border Union Show once again delivered a lively and varied atmosphere, with everything from farming and rural life to craftsmanship, innovation and local enterprise on display.

Among the many highlights were the conversations had with attendees who were keen to learn more about how natural fibre insulation can make a meaningful difference in a wide range of projects.

There was even a little extra spectacle on site, with camels among the many attractions drawing plenty of attention from visitors. That said, while they certainly added to the entertainment, Sisalwool is happy to stay in its lane and continue doing what it does best: using sheep’s wool, not camels, to create high-performance natural insulation solutions.

It was a memorable reminder that every show has its surprises, but our focus remains firmly on practical, proven and sustainable materials that deliver real value in buildings.

Sales Manager Gavin Moore, reflected on a positive few days…

“Border Union was a fantastic opportunity to speak to people face to face about the real benefits of natural fibre insulation. We had some brilliant conversations across the few days, and it was especially rewarding to show how Sisalwool can support healthier, more comfortable and more sustainable buildings.

The podcast studio also created a lot of interest, and it was great to demonstrate the acoustic performance of the product in such a practical way. We were proud to be there.”

Podcast Studio Proudly Showcased

One of the standout features of the Sisalwool stand was the return of the podcast studio, which proved to be a great talking point across the show.

Following its success at the Royal Highland Show, the studio once again offered a creative and functional space for recording conversations, interviews and content.

More than just a novelty, it also provided a powerful live example of the acoustic benefits of Sisalwool.

By helping to create a quieter, more controlled recording environment, the studio demonstrated exactly how natural fibre insulation can perform in real-world settings.

Looking Ahead

The team is grateful to everyone who stopped by the stand, asked questions, shared ideas or simply came to find out more about Sisalwool.

Events like the Border Union Show are an important part of building awareness around natural fibre insulation and showing how it can support better outcomes for buildings and the people who use them.

As the conversation around sustainability continues to grow, Sisalwool remains committed to helping create homes and buildings that perform better, feel better and tread more lightly on the environment.

And while the camels may have stolen a few glances, Sisalwool will continue to stick with sheep’s wool….because when it comes to natural insulation, that’s where we feel right at home.
