Wrapping up a standout Royal Highland Show....

Sisalwool has wrapped up a hugely positive few days at the Royal Highland Show 2026, with a busy stand, strong engagement and plenty of interest in natural fibre insulation in real-world use.

The Floral Walkway

This year’s stand was located on the Floral Walkway, a spot that delivered excellent footfall and a steady stream of visitors from across farming, rural business, construction and self-build communities.

The team has extended a big thank you to everyone who stopped by to talk insulation, step inside the podcast silo or pick up one of the kids’ packs.

In a welcome bonus, the stand was awarded 2nd place in the “Best Stand - Outdoor Living” category - a recognition of the effort that went into both design and visitor experience.

Podcast Studio: Acoustics You Could Actually Feel

The grain silo podcast studio proved to be the star attraction.

Lined with Sisalwool, it offered a calm, quiet recording space in the middle of the busy showground a practical demonstration of acoustic performance that is often difficult to convey on paper or in a brochure. Everyone who stepped inside seemed genuinely surprised by the change in sound and atmosphere.

The warm, sunny weather also helped underline the thermal performance of the product. The difference in temperature and comfort between the inside and outside of the silo became an easy talking point with visitors, reinforcing the dual benefits of Sisalwool as both thermal and acoustic insulation.

Several people asked whether the product was “just thermal” or “just acoustic” and were impressed to learn that it is designed to do both.

Conversations around wool, source and story

Across the four days, there was strong interest in where the wool used in Sisalwool comes from, and how it is sourced. With “Scottish sheep’s wool” highlighted on the stand, these conversations reinforced the importance of having a clear, consistent way to explain wool provenance, supply and processing for future events and communications.

Collaboration with Hoose

The collaboration with Hoose was another highlight. Their maquette [a full-scale section showing timber structure, insulation layers and window detailing] gave visitors a tangible understanding of how Sisalwool sits within a modern, low‑energy build-up.

Seeing the product in situ, rather than as an isolated sample, helped people picture how natural insulation could look and perform inside their own homes and offices, particularly for self‑builders and those interested in regenerative or low‑energy design.

Pop-up podcast studio and guest recordings

Throughout the Show, the pop-up podcast studio hosted a series of recordings with exhibitors, creators and guests from across the farming, rural and built environment sectors. These sessions not only produced valuable content but also created meaningful conversations around natural materials, building performance and the role of insulation in comfort and wellbeing.

Many of the guests commented on the quality of the recording environment and the unexpected calm of the space, reinforcing the live demonstration of Sisalwool’s acoustic credentials.
