Installation Guide

Installing Sisalwool natural fibre insulation is probably the least complicated thing you’ll do today. 

A versatile and easy-to-use product, Sisalwool improves thermal efficiency, sound dampening, and breathability, without the irritation or faff of other insulation products. 

Follow our guide below to ensure proper installation and maximum benefits for floors, walls and roofs.

Materials needed:

• Sisalwool natural fibre insulation slabs or rolls
• Insulation saw
• Measuring tape
• Protective gear (totally optional)
• Fasteners (only if needed)

Floors

1. Ensure the subfloor is clean, dry, and free from debris.
2. Unroll or place Sisalwool slabs between floor joists or above the subfloor, ensuring a snug fit without compression.
3. Use an insulation saw to trim the insulation to the required size. Fit pieces tightly together, ensuring no gaps.
4. If needed, secure the insulation in place using fasteners or an appropriate adhesive.
   

Walls

1. Clear the wall cavities of any obstructions or debris.
2. Use an insulation saw to cut insulation to the required size, fitting it precisely into corners and edges.
3. Insert Sisalwool slabs into the wall cavities, making sure they fit snugly without compression.
4. Fill all voids and ensure complete coverage without leaving any gaps.

Roofs

1. Access the roof space safely and clear any debris.
   
2. Cut insulation to size using an insulation saw, fitting it closely around obstructions like beams or vents.
   
3. Place Sisalwool slabs or rolls between roof rafters, ensuring a proper and snug fit.
4. Secure insulation in place using fasteners or clips to prevent movement.

Final checks

Ensure uniform coverage: Inspect the installed Sisalwool to ensure uniform coverage without gaps.

Maintain ventilation: Leave appropriate gaps around vents to ensure adequate airflow.
