Sisalwool has been named a finalist in the Iver Salvesen Award for Combatting Climate Change at the 2026 Helping it Happen Awards.
It is great news, coming so quickly after the company’s nomination for the 2026 Scottish Impact Awards
The awards, organised by Scottish Land & Estates and supported by NatureScot, mark their 10th year of recognising the farms, estates, rural businesses and people helping rural Scotland thrive.
The Iver Salvesen category, sponsored by Murray Beith Murray, is for businesses finding success while putting more efficient, lower-impact ways of working into practice.
This is a key driver for us at Sisalwool. The company makes natural fibre insulation in Scotland from sheep’s wool, sisal and recycled textiles, with the aim of cutting the carbon locked into conventional insulation and giving older stone buildings a breathable alternative that works with the fabric rather than against it.
The awards evening takes place on Thursday 1 October at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre.
A place on this shortlist is worth celebrating. It is independent recognition of the work the team, partners and installers have put into turning undervalued rural and recycled fibres into a practical way to cut carbon in Scottish buildings, and it is something the whole company is proud of.
