Spring on the Road: Connecting, Collaborating and Championing Natural Insulation

A season of events, conversations and collaboration has seen Sisalwool out across the UK, engaging with the people shaping the future of the built environment.

Driving Circular Change in Stirling

We kicked things off closer to home at Stirling and Clackmannanshire’s Employer Engagement Forum, held at the Good Green Futures Reuse Hub to mark Earth Day. The event brought together an inspiring mix of local organisations focused on climate action and community impact.

As a business committed to circularity, we’re proud to be working alongside the Good Green Futures team, whose reuse hub is helping to keep valuable construction materials in use and out of landfill. Sisalwool now has a permanent presence at the hub, where visitors can learn more about natural fibre insulation and even place orders directly.

Engaging Self-Builders and Retrofitters in Glasgow

From there, we headed to the Homebuilding & Renovating Show in Glasgow, where we spoke directly with self-builders, renovators and contractors.

It was hugely encouraging to see the level of interest in natural insulation, with many visitors keen to understand how breathable, low-carbon materials like Sisalwool can support healthier, more energy-efficient homes.

Taking Regenerative Materials Mainstream at Futurebuild

One of the highlights of the season was Futurebuild in London, which this year combined with UK Construction Week to create the UK’s largest built environment event.

Our founder, John Ferguson, joined an ASBP panel on regenerative materials, exploring how natural solutions can move from niche to mainstream. The session focused on real-world case studies across retrofit and new build, while tackling key questions around performance, certification, scalability and maintaining strong environmental and social values as demand grows.

Showcasing Innovation at Small Scale Big Ideas

We’re also proud to be part of Small Scale Big Ideas at The Building Centre in London throughout May, alongside Hoose.

Sisalwool features within innovative housing concepts that reimagine how we bring vacant homes back into use, combining modern methods of construction with community-led initiatives. As part of this, we’ll be delivering a CPD session designed for architects, specifiers and contractors, offering practical, evidence-based guidance on specifying and integrating natural fibre insulation.

Coming Next: The Royal Highland Show

Looking ahead, we’re gearing up for something a little different at the Royal Highland Show.

This year, we’re transforming a full-sized grain silo into a live podcast and content studio, fully lined with Sisalwool acoustic insulation. The space will demonstrate real-world performance while giving farmers, rural businesses and content creators a place to record, film and share content from the heart of the show. The studio will be free to use across all four days.

Let’s Work Together

These events are about more than showcasing products. They’re about building relationships, sharing knowledge and collaborating with others working towards better, more sustainable buildings.

If you’re interested in working with Sisalwool, exploring partnerships, or incorporating natural fibre insulation into your projects, we’d love to hear from you.
