Sisalwool is proud to be supporting two forthcoming RIAS professional development events, bringing architects, building-services engineers, conservation specialists and wider built-environment professionals together around some of the sector’s most important challenges.
Our relationship with RIAS matters to us. Architects and specifiers play a central role in creating buildings that are healthier, lower carbon, more resilient and fit for the long term. Through these events, we are pleased to contribute to meaningful professional discussion on sustainable design, retrofit, building performance and the future of Scotland’s historic and contemporary buildings.
THURSDAY 10 SEPTEMBER
On Thursday 10 September, Sisalwool will co-sponsor the RIAS and CIBSE Scotland breakfast CPD at Material Source Studio, Glasgow.
The session will focus on net-zero standards, including progress on the UK Net Zero Carbon Buildings Standard and the Scottish Government’s Net Zero Public Sector Buildings Standard.
Sisalwool’s Sales Director, Gavin Moore will present as part of the event’s wider discussion on sustainable architecture, design, construction and technology.
The session will bring together architects and building-services engineers to consider how net-zero standards can be applied in practice, including verification, lessons from early adoption and the evolving role of project teams in delivering genuinely lower-carbon buildings.
TUESDAY 29 SEPTEMBER
Later in the month, Sisalwool will sponsor the RIAS Conservation Seminar: Conservation Quandaries, taking place at The Engine Shed in Stirling.
Part of RIAS’s 2026 Practice Essentials series, the seminar will explore the challenges and opportunities involved in maintaining, protecting and future-proofing Scotland’s historic built environment.
The event brings together expertise from architecture, heritage, archaeology, conservation and construction, and is chaired by RIAS CEO Tamsie Thomson alongside Fiona Sinclair.
